Not Just a Diet

This is a blog to keep track of my diet and fitness journey. Hopefully this will inspire other people who are sick of dieting and are ready for a lifestyle change. Everyday when we wake up, we make choices that shape our future. Today choose the future you want.

I definitely fell off the wagon last week. Thankfully I only gained .2lbs though. I think what initially threw me off was I had a pretty chaotic work schedule last week and was having a lot of trouble sleeping. I work overnight, evening and morning shifts so it’s hard to form a regular sleep pattern. I really didn’t think it was healthy to exercise on three hours of sleep so Tuesday and Wednesday I wasn’t able to workout. Thursday I did not eat so great and then this weekend, my boyfriend and I went on a mini vacation. We went on a brewery tour and of course drank and ate a lot of calories. I noticed that the less I worked out the hungrier I was and the worse I ate the less likely I was to workout… a vicious cycle. I also noticed that I was more hungry on the days I ate a lot of not so nutritious foods. Last night I worked out and could definitely feel the effects of unhealthy eating on my performance. Time to get back on the wagon! I went to Trader Joe’s yesterday and bought a lot of fruit and vegetables. I’m really aiming to lose two pounds this week. I plan on five 45 minute cardio sessions and 3 strength training sessions. I hope to finish the 21-Day Total Body Makeover workout by the end of this week.
